11當耶和華將你領進迦南人之地

When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites

照他向你和你祖宗所起的誓

as he swore to you and your fathers

把那地賜給你的時候and shall give it to you

12你要將一切頭生的獻給耶和華

you shall set apart to the Lord all that first opens the womb

你牲畜中頭生的All the firstborn of your animals

公的都歸耶和華

that are males shall be the Lord's

13然而 凡頭生的驢

Every firstborn of a donkey

你要用羔羊贖回

you shall redeem with a lamb

若不贖牠 就要打斷牠的頸項

or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck

你兒子中的長子都要贖出來

Every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem

14日後 你的兒子問你說

when in time to come your son asks you

這是甚麼意思？

What does this mean?

你就說

you shall say to him

耶和華用大能的手

By a strong hand the Lord

將我們從埃及為奴之家領出來

brought us out of Egypt from the house of slavery

15那時法老固執

For when Pharaoh stubbornly

不肯放我們走refused to let us go

耶和華就把埃及地所有頭生的 無論是人是牲畜 都殺了

the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt

因此我把一切頭生的公的牲畜

both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals

獻給耶和華為祭

I sacrifice to the Lord all the males that first open the womb

卻將所有頭生的兒子贖出來

but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem

16這要在你手上作記號 在你額上作經匣

It shall be as a mark on your hand or frontlets between your eyes

因為耶和華用大能的手將我們從埃及領出來

for by a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt
