37以色列人從蘭塞起程，往疏割去

And the people of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth  

除了小孩，步行的男人約有六十萬

about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children 

38又有許多不同族群的人 

A mixed multitude

以及眾多的羊群牛群 

and very much livestock, both flocks and herds

和他們一同上去 

also went up with them

39他們用埃及帶出來的生麵烤成無酵餅

they baked unleavened cakes of the dough that they had brought out of Egypt 

這生麵是沒有發酵的 

 for it was not leavened 

因為他們被催促離開埃及

because they were thrust out of Egypt 

不能耽延 

and could not wait 

就沒有為自己預備食物 

nor had they prepared any provisions for themselves 

40以色列人住在埃及共四百三十年 

The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years 

41正滿四百三十年的那一天 

At the end of 430 years 

耶和華的全軍從埃及地出來了 

on that very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt

這是向耶和華守的夜

It was a night of watching by the Lord 

他領他們出埃及地 

to bring them out of the land of Egypt

這是以色列眾人世世代代要向耶和華守的夜

so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations
